Announcing new additions to the Blok engine for no.Spam.domino
Blok is a checksum based Spam detection engine for no.Spam.domino. Blok increases your Spam detection options by providing accurate checksum based detection. We've added some new features to Blok to provide you with even more Spam detection options. These new features are provided at no extra cost for existing Blok users. If you're not an existing Blok user, we can upgrade your no.Spam.domino license to include Blok for only $24.99 per month and you'll get all the existing Blok features plus the new ones as well.
Blok Phrases
Many unwanted messages contain disguised words or common phrases which are the hallmarks of Spam. We're constantly adding to a growing list of common phrases that you're likely to see in the subject or body of a spammy message. Just use the sample rules provided or create you own rules to start detecting Spam using these phrases.
Blok Hostnames
There's a huge number of hostnames that repeatedly pop-up in unwanted mail, whether in the message header as part of forged message fields or in the body as URL's or mail addresses. We're collecting these hostnames and adding them to the Blok hostname list. A simple no.Spam.domino rule can check the message header or body text for any of these hostnames and help you to detect Spam which uses them. Sample rules are provided in the Blok master database.
Blok Patterns
A great deal of unwanted mail comes from mass mailings where the same message template is used to send mail to millions of unlucky recipients. Even though some attempts are made to make each message unique there is usually a distinct pattern to the structure of the body. DRCC's Adaptive Pattern Probability Engine (APPE) looks for such patterns in various parts of the message header and body using probability to determine if a pattern is indicative of Spam. Blok patterns are a slightly more simplified version which look at the message body text. If you don't use APPE then give Blok patterns a try to see how it helps your detection accuracy.
